In downtown Seattle, you’ll find a variety of top notch hotels. When you’re choosing between the many for a Seattle Hotel, the Palladian stands out in both quality and style. A four-star hotel apart of the Kimpton Collection has just about every comfort you can think of for a downtown hotel, and they do it with style.
Note: Some meals were provided at no cost to the author. All opinions remain my own.
A Quirky Royal Style
When you walk into the lobby you’ll see some familiar faces on the wall. At first they just look like royals you’ll realize they are actually portraits of folks like Dave Matthews and Russell Crowe. From the lobby to the rooms every detail has its flare. The staff was impeccable and I can’t remember a hotel room I recently felt as comfortable relaxing in. To top it all off, their restaurant was one of my favorite dining experiences in Seattle, and that is a high bar.
This style carries on throughout the hotel. Balancing the lavish with the humorous. I continued to find new pieces of their design that made me smile throughout my stay.
Ad thing about Kimpton happy hour.
If you’re looking to explore downtown Seattle, there isn’t a better location. The Palladian is just a few blocks up from Pike Place Market. This made it an easy walk to explore the area and the many restaurants nearby. The walk to the Space Needle and Waterfront isn’t much farther.
On top of being walkable to most destinations, the Palladian is just a few blocks away from one of the major public transit hubs. It was easy and cheap to take the Link light rail to and from the airport. Even getting in at night it was safe and filled with friendly faces. From the same spot, you can pick up a variety of buses to explore further than you can easily walk.
During my stay, I took one Uber and only because I was running late the entire trip. Otherwise, I walked and took the light rail system to and from the airport. It was effortless and helped me keep my costs down.
Stand Up Staff
From the moment I entered to when I walked out every staff member I ran across at the Palladian was both friendly and helpful. It was my first visit to Seattle and they were helpful in letting me know some of their favorite restaurants and attractions in the area. Tips on a couple things worth skipping and, of course, their favorite items at Shaker + Spear the hotel restaurant.
The staff is ready for just about anything whether it is holding your bags for you, providing umbrellas to take on your adventure if it’s raining out, and even helping you track down late night food, I suggest Rocco’s just up the street.
Cozy & Luxurious Rooms
The rooms are a perfect blend of modern and comfortable. With cozy beds and robes to curl up in, but simple art and furniture. One of my favorite things was how they set the tv on an aisle stand. Not only does it take up less room than most, but it makes the room stand out as unique.
On top of the feel, their rooms had everything you needed. It is shocking how few hotels have updated for the modern age, where you have to surge for an outlet to use a charge. Instead, the Palladian has a row of outlets for wall chargers and USBs right on the bedside table. Plus for us music lovers they have a Jambox speaker in the room for you to use, which is actually one of my recommended gifts for travelers.
I was spoiled with one of the best views on the property where I could see the Space Needle from my bed. It was the perfect way to relax a little before heading out for a busy evening or spend the morning reading before starting the day.
Within the Palladian, you will find two restaurants. The first the Pennyroyal Bar. You feel like you’ve stepped back into time in a speakeasy when you sit down. And whether you are looking for some craft cocktails to enjoy or a light breakfast to get you going. The Pennyroyal has you covered throughout the day. With a menu of small plates, it is the perfect spot to grab a meal or snack while taking a break from exploring the city.
For those looking for something a little more hearty, you cannot skip a visit to Shaker + Spear. Join them for dinner to get a taste of what Seattle’s seafood has to offer. Or enjoy a lavish brunch with their ricotta pancakes and a mimosa. The restaurant itself is a beautiful open space. Enjoy a table by the window and you sip on a rich local Seattle cup of coffee.
Well-rounded Luxury Hotel
The Palladian offers everything you can look for in a luxury hotel. Close proximity to the main attractions, comfortable and relaxing rooms, friendly staff and delicious restaurants. Whether you are visiting to watch a soccer or football game, explore the food scene in Seattle or a stop while touring the Pacific Northwest, you’ll find the perfect spot to spend a night with the Palladian.
