Find Your Tribe In Wanderful, A Community of Women Travelers

Did you know that 54% of American women are looking to travel solo this year? Are you? I know that I have a few trips in mind. As much as I love solo travel there are times where it can get lonely or intimidating depending on where you travel. That’s where having a community of women travelers comes in handy.

On top of that even when I’m back at home base I’ve grown to appreciate how important it is to connect with other people, especially women who share the same passions I do. Right now that is traveling and writing. While I am lucky that many of my friends before I started traveling are avid travelers it’s been important for me to find a community of women travelers to connect with in my everyday life.

I was lucky to stumble across Wanderful a few years back and found a tribe where I could meet both online and in person women who were as passionate about making travel a vital part of their lives as I was.

Wanderful began as a blog, grew as a community of women travelers, developed as a travel resource, and now has launched a membership that embodies all of that. If you’re a woman who loves to travel or want to increase how much you travel Wanderful is the ideal place for you to connect with like-minded women to build your own tribe, a way to meet and stay with women around the globe, and a resource for any destination you’re heading to around the globe.

Note: Thank you to Wanderful for providing me a membership to a community of women travelers I already love. As always, all opinions remain my own. You’ll find affiliate links in this post which allow me to continue to improve Traveling Nine to Fiver. I hope this article on a community of women travelers is useful for you.

A Global Online Network of Women

Like many in the community of 14,000 traveling women involved with Wanderful, I started online. I followed the blog, joined the Facebook group, and began to connect with this community of women travelers from all over the globe.

Online you’ll find an active network of women who are interested in helping each other travel. You’ll see posts asking for advice whether it’s on general travel or for a specific destination. Then you have women who know these places inside and sharing their insider information.

How many times have you wondered if the hotel you’re booking is in a safe neighborhood in a city you’ve never visited before?

You are read a guidebook but the best way to find out is from someone who lives there. This is where having a community of women travelers that spans the globe a necessity for any traveler.

The online community is also the basis for meeting women all around the globe. You can connect with women based in cities around the globe for resources and then meet them on your trip. It’s a great way to make a new friend and meet locals when you travel.

Connecting With Like-Minded Travelers in Person

The online community of Wanderful is only the tip of the iceberg in the community they offer. On top of 14,000 in the online community, they have 22 chapters around the world, host an annual conference, and group trips to various destinations.

If you’re looking to connect with women just as passionate about travel as yourself, even when you’re spending time at home, the Wanderful chapters are the perfect way to start. Here you can head to happy hour, go to a speech or take a hike with the other chapter members. These chapters are normally made up of a combination of locals who prioritize travel and expats that are currently residing in these cities. It’s a great way to get part of what we all about travel, a global connection, without leaving your hometown.

One top of the chapters, Wanderful hosts the Annual Women in Travel Summit. I had a chance to attend last year’s event and walked away more motivated than to both travel and write about it. While the sessions were informative it was really the chance to meet women just as passionate about travel as I am. I also got to meet in person some of the people I’d connected with before online and have continued to stay in touch.

They’ve recently ramped up their group trips as well. I haven’t attended one yet but this year they have already gone to Costa Rica and have a trip to New Orleans and 10 days in Zambia and Botswana on the books. A unique way to explore the world and meet new women travelers.

These trips are only available to Wanderful members so make sure you scroll down to the bottom for your chance to win a year-long membership.

A Network Of Safe Accommodations Around The Globe

The most exciting thing about Wanderful might just be the new global network of accommodations they are launching right now!

The thing about solo travel is accommodations can get expensive. At the same time, a big hostel common room might now be your thing anymore. Wanderful has just launched a brand new network where women can host each other in their own cities. Giving you a safe, verified place to stay at a low cost.

On top of being a chance at cheap accommodations, it’s an opportunity to get more local in your travels. Staying with someone who knows the city will give you much more of a chance to learn what it has to offer than many other options.

In return, this network would allow you to host women traveling to your cities! Want to meet women from all over the world and make a little extra cash? This is a great opportunity where you have a safe network to connect.

I can’t wait to give it a try on one of my next trips! And maybe even host a person or two.Connections, resources, and safe places to stay around the globe. Find your tribe and community with Wanderful, a global community of women travelers.

You Support Women Around the Globe By Just Signing Up

Wanderful is an astounding community to belong to in itself. But a perk to joining is that you will also be supporting Womentum, a non-profit pay it forward crowdfunding platform, which enables anyone in the world to donate to women entrepreneurs in developing countries.

When you sign up for an annual membership, Wanderful will donate $10 to Womentum to help support their initiative. So not only are you joining a great community of women but you are helping improve the lives of women around the world.

Find Your Global Community With Wanderful

When I decided travel needed to be one of the top priorities in my life I sometimes began to feel disconnected from the community I’d been based in over the years. While some friends prioritize travel, many don’t. And while that’s okay and they’ve supported my passion, it can also make you feel a bit like an outsider at times.

It’s been very important for me to find a tribe of people, especially women, who are just as excited about travel as I am. For me, Wanderful has been just that. I’ve been able to not only meet and talk to but work with women who would rather travel that just about anything else. Some are nomads, some are bloggers, some work full-time jobs just like me, and others are a combination.

The membership might seem like a commitment but between the discounts for events and the money you’ll save on accommodations through this new travel network, will easily make you back your $119 annual membership fee.
